Careless Use of Firearm
On December 18th at approximately 1:00pm someone associated to a newer 1/2 ton truck discharged a firearm into the forest on Duck Lake road near Branch 7. An unrelated person was using one of many trails in the area had to take cover to avoid being hit. The truck was described as shiny new black 1/2 ton Chevrolet or GMC. The truck had no canopy and was not lifted.
Two Vehicle Collision
On December 15th at approximately 5:00pm a red Ford Fusion attempted to drive around a vehicle that had stopped at a crosswalk in the 4500 Block of Marine Ave. The Fusion then collided with another vehicle which was in the oncoming lane. No injuries were reported and the driver of the Ford Fusion is potentially facing a violet ticket under the motor vehicle act.
Single Vehicle Accident
On December 17th at approximately 1:45pm a Ford Escape lost control while traveling southbound on Padgett Rd near Myrtle Ave. The vehicle slid off the road and down an embankment. At the time of the collision it was lightly snowing and the road was partially covered in a light dusting of slush. The driver did not sustain any injuries but the vehicle sustained major damage. The road was briefly closed to allow the vehicle to dragged back onto the street then loaded onto a tow truck.
Impaired and Prohibited Driver
On December 17th at approximately 11:45pm a vehicle was stopped by police in the 7300 block of Wilde Road. The driver demonstrated signs of alcohol consumption and provided a breath sample which resulted in a warn reading. It was also determined that the driver did not have a valid driver licence and was prohibited from driving. As a result the vehicle was impounded for a minimum of 7 days and the driver was served with a driving prohibition.
Impaired – Refusal
On December 19th at approximately 12:30am a White Mazda 3 was stopped by police at Joyce Ave and Crofton Street after it was observed almost hitting a parked car. The driver demonstrated signs of alcohol consumption and subsequently refused to provide a breath sample. As a result the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and driver’s license was seized for 90 days.
Impaired By Drugs
On December 20th at approximately 8:30pm an unoccupied and legally parked vehicle was struck by a Grey Chevrolet Sonic being driving by a female. As a result the female driver demonstrated signs of impairment by drugs and was served with a 24 driving prohibition. The driver also is potential facing the criminal code charges for impaired driving.
