Holiday Green Guide – Let’s Talk Trash Team

Did you know on average people generate 25% more trash during the holiday season? And, approximately 33 million live Christmas trees are sold in North America every year? LED lights use 80% less energy than traditional incandescent holiday lights, and last up to 10 times longer!

Here’s another great idea from Let’s Talk Trash, Powell River Regional District’s waste education program.

Fill a mason jar with the dry ingredients required for a favourite cookie or cake recipe. Top with a bow and ribbon.

List the ingredients and baking instructions on a card and hang on the jar. You can individualize the jars by making them gluten free, low sugar, etc.
