On Monday, February 8th, British Columbians will celebrate the fourth annual BC Family Day.
This mid-winter holiday offers families in all their diversity the chance to spend some extra time together and to celebrate the importance of the home and family life. It us observed annually on the second Monday of February.
In the province of Manitoba this day is known as Louis Riel Day while in Prince Edward Island, Islander Day is observed. Family Day is also a provincial statutory holiday in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan. It is however celebrated on a different day: the third Monday in February.
