Theft/vandalism to mail box
2016-364

On the morning of January 30th, 2016 the Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft from mail boxes located on Gunther Road at Padgett Road. The theft occurred sometime during the night. A witness reported they saw a white single cab Ford F150 pick up with an extended box, a red stripe on the passenger side door and a male described as looking suspicious parked in front of the mail boxes approximately 2:30 AM. The truck was parked on the left hand side of Gunther Road facing Padgett Road. The suspicious male is described as being in his mid 20’s to early 30’s, between 5’10 and 6 feet tall, and approximately 200 lbs. He had blonde hair, was clean shaven and was wearing a grey hoodie with blue jeans. Three community mailbox doors had been forced open.

Theft from vehicle
2016-346

On January 29th, 2016 the Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft from vehicle which occurred sometime during the night. The blue Chevrolet Silverado was parked in the driveway of a residence located on the 4400 block of Georgia Crescent. The pick up was unlocked at the time and culprit(s) stole some loose change. The truck was ‘rifled through’ and the culprit(s) used the garage door opener to open the garage door. It is unknown whether the garage was entered.

Theft from Vehicles
2016-347/363

On January 29th, 2016 the Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft from two different vehicles which occurred sometime overnight at the 7000 block of Glacier Street. An unlocked Toyota Rav 4 parked in the driveway of a residence was entered and thieves stole approximately three pairs of Oakley sunglasses. Another unlocked vehicle was entered at another residence and loose change as well as a light colored brown wallet was stolen. It was evident that thieves took the time to look through the inside of both vehicles as many items were thrown about.

Break and Enter to residence
2016-370

On January 30th, 2016 the Powell River RCMP received a report of a residential Break and Enter which occurred sometime during the night on the 2000 block of Pine Tree Road. Once inside the residence, thieves stole a Samsung Sound Bar, Compaq Notebook computer pale pink in color, and a Bluetooth Milwaukee speaker. A witness saw two people with flashlights near the location of the break in at approximately 11:00 pm on the night in question.
