Kitchen waste + worms = rich, healthy soil amendment

imageAre you interested in composting with worms? Join Master Composter Carol Engram for an introduction to Vermiculture on Tuesday, February 23rd from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at Cranberry Community Living Place.

Carol will walk you through how to convert your kitchen scraps into nutrient rich soil amendment. Participants will learn how to decrease their curbside garbage by up to 50% while increasing the health of their soil. Participants will be presented with the basics of how to make and maintain a worm bin and how to separate worms from their castings.

This workshop will be onsite at Cranberry Community Living Place where Carol integrates multiple forms of composting for the best results. She will be happy to answer any of your composting queries. Contact letstalktrashteam@gmail.com with any questions. Pre-registration is not necessary for this workshop.

For those of you unable to commit to your own worm bin, Carol also makes worm pucks for sale. These are pure worm castings made from kitchen waste collected and produced in Powell River. They can be used indoors or outdoors, or put in a watering can to enrich soil and plant health. Contact Carol Engram (Red Door U Grow) for more information, at 604-485-2311.
