Composting Indoors on a Budget with Bokashi

imageRegistered Holistic Nutritionist and fermentation expert, Kitty Clemens, of Pro-Active Nutrition, will teach workshop participants about the Bokashi indoor fermentation system on Wednesday, March 9th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Community Resource Centre, 4725 Joyce Avenue.

Bokashi is a Japanese word that translates into “fermented organic matter.” This method of composting allows for the additions of meat, fish and dairy without attracting rodents and flies or producing odours.

Participants will see an active Bokashi bucket and learn how to make their own Bokashi system from scratch, including creative ways to produce the necessary micro-organisms to activate their bucket.

Workshop attendance is FREE. Contact letstalktrashteam@gmail.com with any questions. No need to pre-register. Workshop will be held indoors.
