Kim Miller at the Powell River Chamber of Commerce is organizing vendors for the upcoming Loggers Sports in July. “We are looking for healthy local food, drinks, clothing, ice cream, mini donuts, back massages, pottery….almost anything is welcome,” she said.
Call Kim at the Chamber of Commerce office, 604-485-4051, to get an application and book a spot. “There is limited space, for a small fee, and it’s on a first come basis,” she said. “We also have space for some not-for-profit booths. Come and promote your service club, group or organization. Be a part of this great event!”
Work has been proceeding at a great pace with organizers and volunteers moving earth and placing cement bricks for new seating for the July 15 – 17 event. The two poles in the foreground stand 86′ high with 20′ in the ground. The poles were donated by Western Forest Products and BC Forest Service. Julian Welp, local resident and initial Attack Crew Leader at Wildfire Management Branch scaled the poles to remove the slings, and took a video from the top! Pic Cred: Terry Gustafson.
