Minicomic Camp + Hatch-a-Plot = Spring Break Fun!

Looking for something fun to do over Spring Break? The Powell River Library is offering a comic book inspired series for teens and kids, from March 15th – 19th at Cranberry Community Hall.

The Minicomic Camp for teens aged 11 and up, will teach young people how to create their own comic book from script to storyboard to mock-up to mastercopy during this four day camp. Each day begins with a drawing warm-up led by one of the Library’s four fantastic artists: Meghan Hildebrand, Caitlin McDonough, Giovanni Spezzacatena and Luke Ramsey.

And for the younger set, on March 19th from 10:30 – noon, there’s Hatch-a-Plot for kids ages 7 – 10. Participants in this program will kidnap two characters, give them a BIG problem, set them somewhere amazing, add a speech bubble, and turn up the heat. Face the problem, tie up the plot and end with a BANG!

To register for either of these programs, call the Library at 604-485-4796. Please note that the Library provides programming, but not supervision of young children at its events.
