Mushroom Madness for Mycophiles

Join Willoughby Arevalo of Radical Mycology and local ethnobotantist Ioni Wais, of Vegetation Station, for a series of mushroom-related workshops on April 8th and 9th in Powell River.

The workshops are sure to pique the interest of both novice and serious mycophiles. “We will be covering lots of topics including how to make mushroom spawn and how to incorporate it into your garden,” Ioni said.

The two-day workshop also includes a field trip and wraps up with a Mushroom Performance and Social. “We are starting out with a mushroom foray,” Ioni said. “This is a field-based workshop geared towards all levels of experience.”

As well, there will be a lecture and mushroom performance featuring The Sex Life of Mushrooms with a Mushroom Social to follow. “The live lecture and performance will celebrate the life cycle of mushroom,” Ioni said. “Everyone is invited to attend. Come meet other mycophiles.”
