Eagle River swimming hole, right below the bridge on Hwy 101, has always been a great place to hang out on a hot summer’s day. Many generations of Powell Riverites have enjoyed paddling in the water, or jumping off the cliffs into the pools below.
This is what Eagle River looks like when spill gates at Lois Lake are opened. The bridge pilings move and shudder with the force of the water. The sirens have sounded, and the spill gates have been opened twice in the last two weeks due to heavy rain.
