Curious about Mushrooms?

Join friends and neighbours in a series of Mushroom Madness Workshops on April 8th and 9th, and learn everything you ever wanted to know about mushrooms.

Willoughby Arevalo, of Radical Mycology, and Ioni Wais, local enthnobotanist, of Vegetation Station, have joined forces to bring mushroom awareness to the community.

“Whether you are a novice or an experienced mycophile, this is an opportunity to learn more about how to cultivate mushroom spawn and how to incorporate it into your garden,” Ioni said.                                Pic Cred: Willoughby Arevalo

The following events have been scheduled for the two-day workshop:

  • Mushroom Foray: A participatory, field-based workshop geared towards all levels of experience;
  • Mushroom Cultivation Workshop: Learn to make mushroom spawn and incorporate mushrooms into your garden; and
  • Mushroom Performance: The Sex Life of Mushrooms, a live lecture-performance celebrating the life cycle of mushrooms; and
  • Mushroom Social: An opportunity to meet other mycophiles!
