  • Stillwater Bluffs: Community Discussion at 7:00 pm VIU Room 148. Join this non-confrontational discussion and brainstorm how to bring these beautiful bluffs into the permanent ownership of the community.

 

 

 

Wednesday, April 20th

  • Book Drive by Powell River Friends of the Library from 10:00 am to noon at PR Public Library. Please bring good quality, good writing in good shape, plus DVDs and CDs. Smaller quantities at once are easier to process. No reference materials, old health manuals, Readers Digests or magazines.:00 am to noon:

  • National Canadian Film Day at 7:00 pm Max Cameron Theatre. An evening of celebration for National Canadian Film Day and Earth Day. Presenting two award winning films: Suzuki Speaks and Snow Walker. Tickets $10, cash only.

Powell River Wellness Speaker Forum:

  • 4:30 – 6:45 pm PR Wellness Challenge & Welllness Fair
  • 5:30 – 6:30 pm Yoga with Tina Pushmati James, Loka Yoga Whistler
  • 7:00 – 9:00 pm Guest Speakers
  • Marvels in Melanesia talk by Rand Rutland, MD at United Church Trinity Hall. Sponsored by Malaspina Naturalists Club. Free, but consider becoming a member.

Friday, April 22: EARTH DAY!

  • Flag raising at City Hall at 4:00 pm. ‘One Voices’ choir and dignitaries

  • Little Hut Curry Earth Celebration vegan/vegetarian meal at 6:00 pm. Tickets available at the restaurant. Limited seating.

  • OceanGybe Documentary – Tide Lines from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Cranberry Community Hall, 6828 Cranberry Street. Three surfers take a sailing journey around the world to find a beach without plastic. Contact 604-485-0020 for more information.
