For the week of April 18th – April 25th 2016

Total Calls for Service = 120
Impaired Driving = 6
Assaults = 3
Break and Enters = 2
Thefts = 1
Mischief = 5

Arson in Sliammon

On April 24th at approximately 3pm a double wide trailer located in the 5100 Block of Hwy 101 in Sliammon burnt down. The Powell River RCMP are investigating the possibility the fire was deliberately set.

Break and Enter

Between April 14th and April 21st a private residence in the 4400 Block of Joyce Ave was broken into. The culprit(s) gained entry to the property via a basement window and rummaged through the residence taking various items including cash/coin and a watch.

Shoplifter Caught

On April 21st at approximately 3:30pm a Save-On-Foods employee caught a female shoplifter who had attempted to steal close to $250 dollars’ worth of groceries. The Powell River RCMP arrested the female and have recommended the criminal code charge of Theft Under $5000.
