Break and Enter

On May 5, 2016 at approx. 9: 20 a.m. police responded to a break and enter to a business in the 6100 block of Lund St. It has not been determined how the suspect(s) entered the store but once inside a lithium battery was stolen. The battery is from Germany and is very unique. The value of the battery is $10,000.

Stolen Dinghy

On May 6, 2016 at approx.. 11:30 a.m. police received a report of a stolen dinghy, taken off a boat moored in the Lund harbor. The dinghy is described as a Grey Achillies and included 2 oars, one white and one black, and a red fuel container. The lines on the side of it were yellow.

Discharge of Firearm Within Municipality

On May 6, 2016 police responded to incident in the 6500 block of Sutherland Ave. where it was reported that a farm animal had been shot. An examination of the sheep revealed a hole in it’s ear that appeared to have been made with a bullet. The injury was not life threatening. It is believed the incident occurred that same day around 1:30 p.m. Police are very concerned that someone discharged a firearm in close proximity to a residence and would like to remind everyone that City by-laws prohibit discharging a firearm within the municipality. It is also a criminal offence to carelessly use a firearm. The investigation is continuing.
