Excuse me, you dropped something…

Our bruin friends are leaving little messages around the neighbourhood: We’re back! From Lund to Saltery Bay there have been lots of bear sightings already, so Powell River’s Franny Ulmer of WildSafeBC is reminding everyone to do a property check and look for bear attractants.

“The main attractant this time of year is unsecured garbage,” she said. “Since bears are mostly eating vegetation right now, the garbage is a huge caloric boost.” Take care to keep garbage and compostables away from our hungry four-legged friends.

Franny and WildSafeBC are cautioning, “If you see this calling card be aware that bears are around and they are hungry!” Pic Cred: Franny Ulmer and WildSafeBC.
