Ages & Stages Fun Day

Bert and Ernie performed in front of a rapt crowd at the popular Ages & Stages Fair held at PR Recreation Complex last week. The popular puppet duo, operated by volunteer students from Brooks Secondary School, taught young children the importance of washing their hands.

Kelly Creek Community School teacher, Lucien Ervington, and Westview Elementary School teacher Brenda Butala were stationed at the front doors of the complex to greet the steady stream of parents, grandparents, caregivers and children who visited the 9th annual children’s fair.

Rita John, Powell River School District’s Early Learning Coordinator who oversees the StrongStart Program was pleased with this year’s number of participants. “We usually get about 110 to 120 people over the course of the day,” she said.
